Review of Karmic Selling
Karmic Selling is an excellent book written by Stan Gwizdak. According to him, he began his career as a corporate salesman. As one might expect from someone in that field, he eventually turned into a “corporate jerk” and found himself in a never-ending cycle of working long hours at dead-end jobs in an attempt to move up the corporate ladder. He gave up a lot of personal and family time, and I’m sure many can identify. One day when he was racing to make it to a meeting, he was involved in a car accident that almost killed him. That was his pivotal moment, which led him to leave his corporate career and launch a consulting firm to conduct business ethically and differently—putting his client’s needs first.
The book is on the karma principle, which states that good deeds will eventually come back to you, as the title suggests. The author has recommended that the ideal question for a salesperson to ask a customer is how they can help, and to help expecting nothing in return; nevertheless, he finds it helpful to establish a rapport with his clients first. As the author points out, clients today seek genuine personal connection over a sweet-tongued salesperson, unlike in the past. As he said on page 3: “I hope that this book will help you achieve greater success in life. I lay out the principles of Karmic Selling for you.” Indeed, this book is not just about sales, but in many other facets of life as well, are the Karmic principles app?icable. The author of this book describes how he has found success and fulfillment in his life by implementing Karmic principles, and how you can too. Given the author’s wealth of knowledge, I implore any salesperson to get this book—it will be well worth your time and money.
I like that the book is well-written and free of errors, including grammar. This is a nice feature in any book, but especially in a self-help book, that makes it easy to read and understand.
Other than being a little short, I didn’t find anything negative about the book.
Since there are no mistakes in the book—as I’ve already stated—I think it was professionally edited.
Because of its excellent writing and the author's sincere desire to assist readers, I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book to anyone in sales, anyone aspiring to be in sales, and any person who wants to live a successful life, even though it is primarily intended for those in sales. It can inspire anyone to live authentically and with integrity, which can improve human connection and ultimately boost success in life. The conclusion on page 113 says” I came to realize that Karmic Selling isn’t even about selling. It’s simply about doing good. Now, we’re not talking rocket science here. This isn’t a new concept. You’ve probably seen it before in other forms, like “treat others as you want to be treated.” But I think it’s a reminder we could all use, and I’ve got the experience (and proof) to know that, when you put good out into the world, it does come back tenfold”. I’m sure you will not regret buying this book, the author has given a step-by-step guide to how he interacts with customers to make a genuine connection, and I commend you to try it too. It’s a win-win situation.
