At 19, Robert Laney was the president of GATE, a travel agency that had figured out how to get the cheapest air tickets at a seventy five percent discount to its customers. His only problems? A few ticket-thirsty investors, virtually the whole media, a snitch, no money, and the ARC (Airlines Reporting Corporation) were breathing on his back. With the support of his headstrong mother, Robert figured out a way through.

This book is an absolute gem, packed with humour, inspiration, and practical advice. Laney's narration is captivating, seamlessly blending telling and showing to create a vivid and immersive experience. His use of analogies and visualisations bring complex concepts to life, making them easy to understand and apply. Furthermore, the author's willingness to admit his mistakes and share his genuine insights adds a refreshing layer of authenticity to the narrative. At such a young age, the author demonstrated impressive maturity and depth of understanding, making his advice all the more valuable. The book offers many creative problem-solving methods as well as business ideas, opening up new perspectives on life and work. A minor detail that will not go unappreciated is the funny chapter names. Though they seem useless, chapter names are a good way to build up anticipation in the reader and make a book harder to put down. The book was professionally edited, with no grammar errors that I could spot. There was nothing to dislike about the book, as it is one I will want to read over and over again.

I love the book, and it is certainly worth the time. This book will be best utilised by teenagers; however, adults will also acquire valuable insight from it. It is a must-read for anyone seeking inspiration, guidance, and a fresh outlook on life. Considering all the above points, I rate Involuntary Reroute five out of five stars.
