Until recently, my biggest connection to golf was my older brother’s first job at a golfing equipment shop. I can’t say I had ever really given the sport much thought. When I came across Kalliope Barlis and her books, my interest was piqued. From her writings, I have learned a lot about the intricacies of the sport, and how much dedication it requires. Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book contains invaluable insights and advice on how players can easily improve their golf game from the course, from home, and even just by thinking about it.

I have read three books by this author now, and I have enjoyed every one of them. I appreciate her clear and concise writing style, as it emphasizes her desire to teach her audience the knowledge she has gained in her life. With golf being the book's focus, I believe she did a fantastic job of using her experience in the sport to benefit others.

Barlis wrote this book with the intention of readers being able to get through it quickly to help their game while on the course. She did a great job of this, as the chapters were short and easy to follow, there was no unnecessary information, and her lessons were clear and to the point making it possible for the reader to ingest this information quickly. While it is intended to be helpful during the game, it can also be helpful at home. She includes step-by-step instructions on how to train your mind at home so that you are honing your skills even when you’re away from where they are required.

While reading this book and drafting my review, I couldn’t think of any negative points to bring up. The information was well-paced and arranged, the chapters were relatively short, making it easy to stay interested, no irrelevant advice or anecdotes were included, and the editing was exceptional. I found no errors whatsoever. So, for the many reasons listed above, I happily rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend this book to readers interested in learning about the sport, or to experienced golfers, looking to heighten their game and give themselves an edge on the course. It is suitable for readers of all ages, as there is only one instance of profanity and no strong themes.
