Galen, the heir of Onita Steel, our protagonist, fled from the Land of the Princes to Magnum Caelum, a part of the Voulhirian Kingdom, hoping to reunite with a dying great uncle. Lord Eldus Alderman, a former judge, is appointed by King Wilhelm to investigate the anomalies of the previous management of Orlin and Meldorath, who victimized the people under their oppressive rule, and make it a better place, especially for the children. Galen and his guide, Rowan, discover a mage and rare stones. Matthew Tysz's We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is an enthralling science-fiction book with cryptic political twists and effective negotiations.

The land of Voulhire is a mythical realm of magic endowed with resources to build the perfect world. Galen Bray, our protagonist, a naive fellow from the land of the princes, begins his journey in this new land with the help of Rowan, the executor of the inheritance left by his great uncle, Onita, called the Onita Steel Forge.

There were lots of complex characters, ranging from mischievous leaders to kind and helpful people. I loved the skillful portrayal amidst vivid scenes and environmental details. The author's mastery of diction, humor, tone, and attitude breathes life into the characters, fostering an appreciation for the political and societal dynamics at play.

There is nothing about it that I despise. I do have a few suggestions that I think this book lacked, though. It would be great if there were a table of contents and page numbers to engage the whole reader experience. We are Voulhire; A New Arrival beneath Great Skies absolutely deserves a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for its powerful characters; the absence of typographical or grammatical errors speaks to the exceptional editing and enhances the overall reading experience.

While it is not suitable for minor audiences, Tysz's writing style and unique negotiations make it an enjoyable read for science fiction fans. I’d strongly recommend it to mature audiences.
