Review of Niching Up

[Following is a volunteer review of "Niching Up" by Chris Dreyer.]
“…Every industry has its risk—but every risk means that industry is ripe for innovation and disruption.”, is a direct quote from this book and is the perfect first starting point in the right direction for anyone who is thinking about advancing their expertise and growing their business. The second would be reading this book, NichingUp.
The author of the book Dreyer, chose to niche in search engine optimisation (SEO) for personal injury law firms, provides many examples and humorous anecdotes of his journey to choose this area of specialisation. His comprehensive understanding of niching is clear and concise making it applicable to any market the reader may want to utilise. From how and when to price your services, the positive aspects of inviting competition to an in-depth analysis of how referrals and testimonies are advantageous, Niching Up gives a full 360 degree perspective of niching in a succinct manner, which is consummately needed in the fast-paced world of marketing.
I am pleasantly surprised at myself for giving this book a 5 out of 5 as that rarely happens, but this book covers a wide variety of topics with thorough explanations on the reasonings, whilst looking at both sides of the coin. Providing pros and cons along the way on his decision-making, the book is relatable to all industries searching to being an expert in their craft. By drawing examples from popular movies and well-know trends, Dreyer hits a relatable and friendly tone with the reader. I also feel it is necessary to highlight that there was not a single grammatical or spelling mistake in the 145 pages this book contained and it was an absolute joy to read.
I suggest to read this book thoroughly once, and then re-visit the key areas throughout your niching journey, which are helpfully provided in the concluding chapter once again in a compact manner to provide quick reference points.
