Have you ever felt like you have met someone before? Have you ever had a deja vu moment? Have you felt like this isn't the only life you have lived? Most of us have had such instances in our lives. Yesterday: A Story of Reincarnation by Samyann attempts to question what is behind these moments, through a fictional story. This is a story where the past and the present collide.

Set in Chicago, Illinois this story tells of a mysterious clock. It is also the story of two people who have never met. The clock draws the intrigue of Amanda Parker who works for Plethora, a specialties antique company. When Amanda meets Mark Patrick Callahan, a policeman, they feel as if they have met before. Amanda is determined to figure out more about the clock and Mark offers to help. The lives of Amanda, Mark, and the antique clock intertwine as they set to figure out its mysterious history. Determined to figure out the history of the clock and where they know each other from, Amanda and Mark begin Past Life Regression Therapy.

The characters in this book are humorous and stubborn. Amanda is trying to rebuild her life after years of tragedy. She is afraid to let anyone close for fear of losing them. Mark is a dashing policeman of Irish descent. He is at times arrogant and can come off a bit presumptuous in his growing relationship with Amanda. There is also Mary, Amanda's godmother. She is witty and has a sometimes dry humor. Mary is also their past life regression therapist.

I liked the premise of this book. I enjoyed reading about the possibility of past lives. I think that the author made it seem very realistic. I did not feel like having a past life was an impossibility when I read this book.

The plot kept you wanting to read until the end. It was hard to put this book down, even after finishing it. This book jumped right into the main point, which I liked. The characters learned important lessons along the way, in both their own lives and each other's. I can't wait to read more by this author.

I would give this book 4 out of 4 stars as I was kept guessing until the end. This book is part possibility, part history, and part mystery. I think fans of historical fiction and the possibility of past lives will fall in love with this book.

I think the idea of past lives is interesting. This sounds like a good book with great characters. I also like the mix of genres. Great job on the review!
