Nimue: Freeing Merlin by Ayn Cates Sullivan follows the journey of Nina, a seventeen-year-old girl with a profound connection to mythology. Accompanied by her mother, they embark on a journey to Britain. While in Britain, Nina's life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers that she embodies the sorceress Nimue. Now, she grapples with the realization that she alone holds the key to locating and freeing the sorcerer Merlin, entwined in a tree by her own hands centuries ago. Will she be able to free Merlin? Read on to find out.
 
I had a great time reading this book. It was set in medieval times and had a storyline that was thrilling and interesting. I found myself engrossed in the artistic elements, especially their aesthetic appeal. The glossary was a thoughtful addition. It helped me understand some of the terms and interpretations of some of the myths. For example, some of the Celtic terms proved challenging at first, but with the help of the glossary, I understood them to some extent.
 
The illustrations and artwork showcased in this book were interesting. It helped create a clearer image of the things that the author talked about in the book. The different myths in this book were interesting to read about. They kick off with a simple form but gradually morph into something more complex. The author showcased a great talent for storytelling through this book, and I was glued to it. The romance in there was lovely to read about, especially the love story between Emrys and Nimue.
 
This book was perfect overall. I anticipated being intrigued by it, and I was not disappointed. There was nothing to dislike about this book. The editing was superb, and I cannot suggest any improvements to it. This book was also free of errors. Seeing all the positives about this book, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. Lovers of mythological books will have a great time reading this.
