I think this is a great book! I don’t typically read a lot of nonfiction, but this title piqued my interest immediately.

I have practically zero knowledge of the business world, but recently I’ve been trying to start up a small business selling my handmade items and I’ve found myself hopelessly lost with no idea where to start. I picked up this book because I figured it might help me out a little bit and it definitely surpassed my expectations!

As I mentioned already, I have practically no business knowledge, certainly not in the personal injury attorney field, so I had no understanding of keywords, pay-per-click, or even SEO (and I’m still not sure I do.) I was pleasantly surprised, however, to see that this ignorance didn’t really keep me from understanding and enjoying the main premise of the book.

Dreyer has a wealth of information to offer on niching up. I thought he did a fantastic job of balancing his argument for niching up with a review of the advantages of diversifying. The quotes and references to other books and speakers help give a humble and honest feel to the book.

I thought the movie quotes and pop culture references interspersed throughout the book - everything from Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Marvel, to The Little Mermaid and even #winning-were a fun touch. It helped the book feel less like a pompous businessman bragging about his own successes and more like a familiar, nerdy friend sharing his personal experiences along with helpful tips and tricks he’s picked up along the way.

I think everyone could learn something from this book, even if you’re not involved in the business world, because what Dreyer describes is not just a business model, but a mindset. Learning when to niche and when to diversify is a skill everyone could benefit from.
