In her novel E M P Honeymoon, Dorothy May Mercer tells the story of Kelly and Tom, who, while on a Caribbean island for their honeymoon, attempt to hinder the attempt of some terrorists to blow up North America.

Recently married, Kelly and Tom are having a great honeymoon in Honduras. Kelly chooses to go on a neighborhood tour, but Tom chooses to go scuba diving. She enters a pigsty shop by accident and is immediately taken in by how charming the setting is. She searches everywhere, but the shop manager is nowhere to be seen, so she heads to the back. In the back, she discovers several beeping computers that appear to be involved in some strange activity. Before she can get a better look around, six boys are chasing her out of the store. The novel explores whether the American government is able to foil the terrorists' preparations and whether the leader of Korea is successful in launching the atomic weapon. The author deftly blends a thorough history of the events into the story, providing realistic descriptions of the possible effects of a nuclear strike.

This was a fun crime thriller to read. It was really busy. I didn't anticipate getting that engrossed in the book. It was exciting and tense at the same time. This novel has a few elements that I find appealing. One example is writing style. It was brief and to the point. It was quite relatable to me. There were not any pointless pauses throughout the text. The narrative had been crafted with skill. Other than that, Dorothy discusses a variety of other topics, including politics, terrorism, love, and families. She discusses a great deal of topics, but rather than creating contrast, her touchstones blend together to create a stunning narrative that effortlessly draws the reader in.

The misleading title of the book was the only aspect I found objectionable. I mistakenly believed that the novel was primarily about romance, but it was actually more about terrorism. Everything else was spot on, in my opinion. As I mentioned before, it was quite well-edited, and my one small complaint didn't affect how much I liked it. The fact that a few of the characters from her earlier works appeared too pleased me. I'm interested to see how Dorothy expands on the universe she created.

Action-novel fans and anyone interested in physics, especially nuclear energy, should definitely pick up this book. It is important to note, though, that younger readers could find it difficult to understand some of the terminology and concepts in this book. I give it five out of five stars.

As a prospective reader, your review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer captures my interest with its blend of action, suspense, and intricate plot involving terrorism. The dynamic between newlyweds Kelly and Tom on their adventurous honeymoon, coupled with the high-stakes scenario of thwarting a terrorist plot, sounds thrilling. While the book's title may initially mislead those expecting a romance-focused story, the fast-paced narrative and well-crafted suspense elements seem to more than make up for it. Your praise for the writing style and the seamless integration of various themes, such as politics and family, indicates that this novel offers a compelling and multifaceted reading experience. I am particularly drawn to the idea of familiar characters from her previous works making appearances, suggesting a richly developed universe.
