Stevie Tenderheart Books - Billy Jack (The Great Escape) by Steve William Laible is a unique children's book that tells us about the adventure of Billy Jack, who was also a unique kid. Billy Jack hated to go to bed early when it was still daylight out. It didn't make sense to him, but it was his parents' decision. One day, they put him to bed as usual, but he decided he was going to do something about it. He started thinking of a proper plan. His plan included sneaking out, covering himself up, and going out to enjoy the rest of the daylight. What did he do? And how did his adventure go? You can find out the answers when you grab this book.

The book isn't the usual children's book with the colorful illustrations and the story to learn from. It's a real adventure for a special kid. I like many things about the book. The author's writing style is funny and engaging. It gave me the feeling that someone was telling the story using acting voices and everything. The funny approach and realistic story gave the book a different taste. Also, I could feel that I saw the story from the kid's point of view. The writer took us into his head. We saw how he felt, thought, took steps, and saw life.

There was nothing to dislike about the book. I just felt that there should have been some kind of criticism of the unwanted behaviors, like lying or sneaking out. I understand that the story focused on the concept of adventure, though. The book received exceptional editing. I couldn't find any errors or mistakes. Therefore, I rate this book five out of five stars.

The book is nice and can suit children who can read. It also suits parents who would like to read for their children.
