Caleb J. Boyers' novel Island Games tells the captivating story of two boys who become stranded on a deserted island with a backpack full of survival supplies. As they struggle to adapt to their new environment, they discover that the only way to escape is by competing in various challenges. Will they be able to overcome their surroundings and remain friends as they strive to leave the island?

This book introduces us to two brave best friends who find themselves in a situation they can't remember. The friends, who were once strong, now face challenging trials that test their friendship. The story is filled with adventure, excitement, and thrills that captivate the reader's interest. As the boys tackle each challenge, the adventure intensifies. Upon completing the challenges, they are rewarded with food and essentials. Join the boys as they navigate their new reality and strive to survive and escape the island.

This book has numerous positive qualities. The author's writing style is well-suited for the book and makes for an enjoyable reading experience. The language used is humorous, clever, and easy to understand, although it can be somewhat immature at times. However, considering that the author is a teenager, this immaturity can be seen as a positive aspect rather than a negative one. Additionally, the book is well edited with no errors, and the action-packed pages kept me engaged and wanting more. The challenges presented in the book are intriguing, and I particularly appreciate the imaginative fantasy world created by a teenage author. I am secretly hoping for a sequel to this book, as I found it thoroughly enjoyable.

In terms of drawbacks, I don't believe there is anything negative to mention. The book is free of flaws and is presented in an engaging manner. I am eager to read more works by this author.

In conclusion, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. As it is authored by a young writer, I hope it serves as an inspiration for other aspiring young authors to engage in similar writing. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this book, despite the presence of some immature language, and I believe it may resonate with young authors who appreciate fantasy novels.
