Do you like reading about different worlds? A story where different kinds of people live? A story where magic exists? What about two worlds? What if a magical world exists parallel to this cosmos? If you are interested, this book will be a great treat.

Author Matthew Tysz creates an entirely new world for readers in his fantasy series We are Voulhire. The series will consist of nine books. The book We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies is the series' first book.

The emperor of Lullabies wants his four sons to fight for the throne. However, all his sons agree to split the kingdom among the four instead of fighting over it. They are just waiting for the emperor to retire. However, the emperor still wants them to fight. So, he gives each prince an island to rule. Slowly, the island did not seem enough as the princes started attacking each other, throwing the islands' population into a heated war-torn situation.

The story revolves around Galen Bray, a resident of one of the prince's islands. He manages to get citizenship papers to get to Voulhire. King Wilhelm rules Voulhire, and Voulhire is facing some problems. Galen comes to Voulhire because of the invitation of his great uncle, who is a smith. However, the great-uncle died before Galen could meet him. So, Galen inherits the house and a metalwork shop. Finally finding a way to improve his life, Galen, accompanied by his new companions, goes on a journey to learn metalwork. Trouble seems to be brewing as Galen gets involved in it. The story ends on a cliffhanger as the readers must buy the next book to know what happened.

The book transports you into a fantasy world. An appendix at the book's end helps readers know what they want to know. It also helps that there is also a website about it. This site helped me adjust to this new world and understand what was happening while reading. Besides, things were also clear without having to use the site. So I only had to switch back and forth sometimes. The website is like a separate world, and this is the first time I have seen a book having a website. That's why the website was a good surprise for me. Moreover, I did not find any error in the book whatsoever.

The story does not go out of its way to include curses or mature content. However, there are still some things in the book a kid should not read. Another problem I found in the book was about diversity. It is a different world or, rather, two different worlds. However, there were only two religions, one language, and no hint of dialect or anything whatsoever. This sameness seems very weird when we think about a fantasy world because this diversity develops naturally among people, even if the book talks about only one nation. More effort could be put into describing culture, staple food, clothes, seasons, and so on in the book. Besides, only a little happened in the book. Most of the book was slow and uneventful. I read the first book, and I still don't know how Galen is involved or why he is the main character.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I liked whatever I read. However, I don't know what happens next, so my rating is only for this book rather than the entire series. I am also impressed by the editing of the book. The perfect score is also because of the website mentioned before.

This review is comprehensive and prepares the potential reader for what they can expect to find in the book. The reviewer indicates how the author could improve this 5-star book as well as what made it a 5-star book. I am sure that the author will appreciate and benefit from the feedback given. I am always interested in different worlds and the people that live in them. The magic and the emperor's creation of division for war among his sons suggest the existence of excitement and suspense in the story. I am adding this book to my bookshelves. :techie-studyinggray:

I also read this book and I really like your review. I loved how excited, thankful and adventurous Galen was. I wish the book would have centered more around Galen and his adventurous spirit instead of all the politics, war, and kings trying to control all the people. I could have enjoyed an entire book about Galen exploring all the new cities and lands and learning to become a blacksmith. Thanks for the great review.

The concept of different worlds, diverse characters, and the existence of magic adds an element of intrigue. The mention of a parallel magical world running alongside our cosmos sparks curiosity.
