Solaris Seethes

Rynah is a well-trained pilot and a hard-working employee in a geo-lab, her boyfriend has just proposed and everything seems to be going well in her life until one day at work while the systems are undergoing maintenance the geo-lab is taken over by invaders. Rynah and the other lab technicians barely escape through a secret tunnel. Rynah looks back and realizes she has forgotten the opaque crystal that sustains life on her planet, risking her life she goes back to get it.

Rynah isn't successful. Klanor the man she has vowed to marry grabs her wrists and takes the crystal. Rynah is shocked the one person that she loves and trusted had betrayed her. The planet shakes violently and soon will be destroyed. Rynah runs for her life, steals a hover vehicle and heads for the shipyard. She can't believe her luck she finds a ship boarding passengers but unfortunately, an intense quake causes her to lose her grip and she is knocked off the ship hitting the ground hard, the crew thinks she is dead and leaves without her.

With no other choices, she runs for her grandfather's hanger and finds his outdated ship Solaris, placing the helmet on her head her mind fills with charts, status reports, and how full the fuel tanks are. Solaris is the name of the ship and the artificial intelligence program that her grandfather has created and she knows all about Rynah. Solaris and Rynah communicate telepathically Solaris takes flight and Rynah narrowly escapes looking back, her planet is gone.

Rynah is homesick. She and Solaris try to come up with ideas to repair their planet. Rynah's grandfather had given her an amber ring that she wears around her neck, but she is not sure if this holds the answer to her problems. Solaris does some checking in her computer archives, she thinks she knows why Klanor stole the crystal. Rynah and Solaris come up with a plan but they are going to need more help, they head toward Earth in hopes of figuring out the prophecy of the crystals.

While writing on a parchment Solon the scribe gets a tingling sensation, slowly orange-yellow lights envelop him then zap, Solan is gone. While in battle Alfric a Viking king is distracted by a bright light and then a loud zap and he is gone. Brie a high school student is being bullied when she is enveloped and she vanishes. While giving a presentation Tom, an inventor gets a prickling sensation is surrounded by a light and zap he is gone.

Rynah waits in the transporter room, Solon, Alfric, Brie and Tom appear before her and she explains what has happened and how very badly she needs their help. Will they agree to help Rynah and see to the demise of Klanor, will the sector of planets be safe again? You must read Solaris Seethes to find out!

I did honestly like Solaris Seethes, the two hundred seventy three pages were filled with adventure and imagination, cool gadgets, and a mystery to be solved. I am rating this book 3 out of 4 stars, it did contain a few curse words. This book would be appealing to ages twelve-sixteen.
