This is a book, written by a Christian mother, which chronicles her daughters’ dreams to the afterlife. The main characters are her two daughters, who were ages 4 and 2 at the occurrence of their dreams. In their dreams, the sisters are taken to heaven by angels. The first half of the book explores the various experiences they had in heaven, the people they met there (most notably Jesus Christ), and the activities they did there. The latter part of the book is about what they saw when Jesus took them to hell.

I have always been curious about afterlife experiences especially by those who experienced near death experiences. This book addressed various questions I had pondered on, as well as gave me a different perspective on some beliefs I currently hold. I was a bit skeptical about the accuracy and viability of a child’s dreams about heaven and hell, but was pleasantly surprised at the details presented. Many of these details could not have been understood or possibly known by a child as these children couldn’t even read the Bible yet. Many of these experiences involved subject matter that would not ordinarily be taught or shared in Sunday school.

This book is a quick read and easy to understand! I really enjoyed the way the author has organized the material. She did a very good job at describing the dreams, as well as presenting verses from the Bible to explain possible meanings to what was seen and heard by her daughters. I appreciated her effort to record her daughters’ dreams in detail as well as having the willingness to explore evidence to analyze these details. I also appreciate the fact that this book doesn’t preach at the reader, condemn the reader, or try to convince the reader. Rather it gently shares verses from the Bible which could be evidence of the dreams.

Since this book is the mother’s interpretation of her daughters’ dreams, it is subjective and not every word can be taken as a fact. There were a few things I disagreed with, but I understood why she interpreted it in a certain way. Like many things in the Bible, it is very important to know the context of what is being discussed, as well as seek the Lord’s wisdom as to whether a certain point can be believed in. The few items I disagreed with are not in any way integral to the Christian faith, but rather minute issues that largely depend on one’s subjective experiences.

In conclusion, I would recommend this book to Christians and non-Christians alike. One does not have to read the Bible or believe in Christ to enjoy reading it. I hope it encourages those of us who are born again believers in Jesus Christ, as well as pique non-Christians’ desire to think more about what awaits us after death.

I give this book a 5/5. Although it addresses the serious issue of eternal life, everything is presented with compassion, love, and points all of it back to Jesus Christ.
