Escape by Belle Ami is an action, suspense, and romance story all rolled into one. Layla Wallace, a Harvard student, decides to go with her boyfriend to Dubai for a vacation. Once they get there, both are kidnapped and whisked away to Tehran, Iran. Layla and her boyfriend get separated and looks like it could get very painful and traumatic for Layla, but that is when Cyrus, the Mossad spy, comes into to save Layla. Cyrus is ordered to get Layla out of Iran or kill her if it looks like she may go into enemy’s hands. Along the journey of Cyrus trying to get Layla out of Iran they began to have an attraction that may make them rethink all the have known.

The part I love the most about this book is the chemistry between Layla and Cyrus. Even though Layla is out of her norm when it comes to the country and people, she is outspoken and not afraid to speak her mind. Cyrus being the best of the best when it comes to military and spying, has a hard core shell around his heart that keeps cracking around Layla. He knows that he cannot afford to care for her and even knowing this still does what he must do to try and save her. Also, the witty commentary between the two in the journey to get to Israel is comical.

The book’s location of Iran was new to me. I liked the idea that even though the book discussed the nuclear aspect of Iran and that they are trying to get the upper hand, it did not take away from the romance of the book. The way the author worked the dangers of Iran into the book was exceptional.

I felt that the beginning of the book took a little bit of time for me to get through because at first nothing was catching my interest, but as I kept going through the story and got hooked I could not put the book down. I thought the ending ended a little too abruptly. I feel like we got to the climax and it took a different turn that I would not have expected.

Escape is an action packed book with witty comments from the main characters that will make you giggle out loud. I would rate this book 3 out of 4. Overall the book is a great read that is packed with action and romance that will leave you wanting more.

I agree that this book is fast paced and very entertaining. My only problem was I found some parts unconvincing. Like, the kidnappers from the first part could actually just knock layla out and leave her in the hotel room if they are just really after the ransom money. Lol. But overall, the author has her own way of drawing her readers in. I still enjoyed reading this. Thank you for the review!
