We all are faced with daily challenges, some go down with these challenges, some struggle to keep their head above water, some get knocked down and come back to fight another day and others hold on to the tiniest bit of hope they have, this book captures these challenges in a way that you can relate to.
The book:My trip to Adele revolves around six major characters: Mariam, Yaser, Elias, Malika, Nadia and Waleed. It reveals their journey through life with its daily struggles and how connected they all are to Adele's songs in one way or the other. It reveals faith in Mariam despite her continuous frustrations in marriage, it reveals a ray of hope in Elias to find his "long lost love", it also reveals a strong determination in Malika to break free from the shackles of her society's traditions in search of better opportunities and strength in Nadia to stand on her feet and remain strong for her son, against all odds.
The descriptiveness of My trip to Adele is truly engaging as it leaves you glued to its pages till the end. It richly describes the beautiful traditions of Marrakesh as well as the majestic beauty of Las Vegas(city of sin). I totally enjoyed the story line, its twist and its connection to the famous singer( Adele ) and this is appealing to music lovers, especially Adele's fans.
However, The presence of Adele's lyrics at the end of each chapter became clichéd at some point, it made the book predictable and reduced its suspense to an extent as I knew what to expect at the end of every chapter. My trip to Adele is an interesting book that I choose to rate 3 out of 4 stars because despite the fact that it is a wonderful book, it mainly appeals to lovers of Adele especially from its title. The title of a book is the first thing that meets the eyes and it may not really be appealing to those who are not lovers of Adele's music. Secondly, I rate this book 3 stars because of the use of Adele's lyrics at the end of each chapter which I found tiring even though I love her music. In some cases it was necessary but in others it was totally uncalled-for.
My trip to Adele is a book that paints pictures interestingly, it takes you on a journey through every chapter till the end.
