[Following is a volunteer review of "Madam Vice President" by Julian Mann.]
Have you ever read about or met strong ambitional ,bold, bossy women and ever wondered what's that, that actually made them so? Wheather they have always been like this or did something or someone force them to be so ? Madam vice president by Julian Mann happens to be one such book , that describes those " behind the scenes ".
This is the story of Vera ochman , currently a teenager, born to polish New York city architect and puerto rican mother in Brooklyn.
Also the story of a suffering farm girl from the plains of Oklahoma.
And about Maria, a housemaid working at the house of dangerous drug dealer.
Well, the story of lieutenant Victoria pierce , the brigadier general of the marine troops.
This is about the life of the madam vice president of the United states of America.
And a lot more .
August 1980, Vera ochman is about to turn 18 in a couple of days. Tonight , as every other night she rides behind Felipe Sanchez, a gangster, a second rate criminal , a motorcycle thug , a racketeer but highlightingly Vera's sexual interest and the feeling is mutual. But , tonight will not be the same as anyother in the past and will not be same as anyother night about to come.
November 2007, Victoria Pierce , the Victoria pierce on her military desk. She is one of those women whom we can appropriately describe as beauty with brains . Beauty, so seducing, so alluring and brain's that turned an orphaned, scared farm girl to one of the most powerful women of the nation.
Ms. Pierce , initially joins as a military consultant later desires to be the running mate of Senator Sam Eagen, the presidential candidate. Well, a Senator for the world but the secret love affair of Victoria for the past 25 years. Victoria , rapidly becomes the favorite of the public including the NewYork times Young reporter Grace Brandon. Until , Grace suspects that this candidate may have a untold , safely hidden past , infact a skeleton in the cupboard. If she finds it out , it may the bring the candidate down, it may even shook the root of the presidency and It may also reveal the connection between Grace and the candidate herself, but only if Grace finds it out. But, will she ?
The story line of the whole book is beautifully penned and well edited. It talks in detail about the twenty fifth amendment, the history of former US presidents and so on. Every character in this book is written in detail and the overall experience was like watching a thrilling movie .
Julian Mann's writing is so unique and beautiful, that he may happen to be my new favorite author in town.
Well, if you are someone who loves C/T/M/H , pickup this one right now; I bet , you won't regret it.
