Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole is a paranomal thriller story. The book begins with Reverend Arthur Vangeest, who is in prison voluntarily. Since the beginning, I was very curious about this character and why he had chosen to go to prison. One day, he has a female visitor : Frieda. The two are acquaintances and she tells him about the death of his step-daughter together with two other Hunters in a mission and asks him help. Arthur accepts and he goes to Raven's Peak to investigate about the circumstances of the death of the three Hunters.

He finds out that Abigail is still alive, but she's possessed by a demon and the two fight in an old church. To save his step-daughter, he is banished to Hell. Six months after, Haatim meets Abigail and has to face a world he didn't know existed.

I highly enjoyed this book. Abigail is the typical heroine : selfless, strong, sometimes reckless. Together with Haatim, they have an harmony difficult to destroy. In fact, I found myself smiling several times when they were interacting with each other. The thing Abigail wants the most is to know where has been banished her father and she is willing to do anything to find it, even going against orders of the Council.

Haatim begins as a blogger who has lost his faith in Allah afer the death of his sister, but, throughout the story, he learns the existence of things he only thought were stories and rediscovers his faith. He's kind and selfless, like Abigail.

Another character I was fond of was Frieda. She is responsible for the Order of the Hunters and the security of the Council. She is strong-willed and emanates authority. I wanted to know more about her relationship with Arthur.

The story was fast-paced and, like I've said before, I enjoyed the fight scenes. There were a lot of plot twists that made me read the book in some hours. Everything was very well described and the book ended with a cliff-hanger that left me with the need to read the second one. I have some questions I hope will be answered in Raven's Fall.

The author did a pretty good job and I give it 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend Raven's Peak to those who like reading paranormal books, particularly related to Demons, and to those who like thrillers.

Nice review, I also liked Freida very much, I think she should have appeared a little more actually.
