In Roadmap to the End of Days Daniel Friedmann takes us on a journey through time, from Creation all the way through the thousands of years leading up to the Final Days. Life is like a maze, he writes, with our one goal the prize at the end, the light at the end of the tunnel. Deeply researched and packed with scripture and historical facts, we learn of our predicted future—that time of everlasting paradise for those faithful to the Divine Plan—and what we can do to hasten it.
As a Christian, I found this book to be an intriguing read, even if some of my beliefs don't quite coincide with those portrayed. It's obvious the author has invested a great deal of study to understanding the end of time and God's plan for his chosen people. It was interesting to go through passages of scripture and seeing how the past 6000 years pave the way for the next 6000, and on into the Seventh Millennium. We watch the rise and fall of so many great kingdoms that fail to usher in the Messianic Age, but despite human failures, the Kingdom of God is still coming.
There are times this book felt well out of my comprehension, even with the included charts and glossary, and quite the unloading of information made my head spin. A lot of my difficulty stemmed from the mass number of foot notes that were a lot harder to navigate via the Kindle versus a bound book, but that's my own personal preference. My thoughts quickly got tangled when trying to keep up with all the notes and I would lose my original train of thought.
Regardless of my own troubles, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. It was very well written and thought-provoking, even if it was a huge amount of information to take in. The chapters were fairly short, and the editing was well done as I found no grammatical errors throughout my review.
I recommend this book for believers and skeptics alike. It answers many questions, even if it raises more, and it really makes you evaluate the world, how you live, and how you affect those around you. It's easy to see the parallels from the past and the present, and how all of our daily decisions can forge a path for our future in Paradise. The End is Coming. Are you ready?
