I enjoyed reading this book immensely. It had me gripped from start to finish. I was able to capture the essence of what the reader was conveying. As I read I could visualize the events as if I were watching this on screen. There were words I did not know the meaning of and yet from the context I was able to understand what they meant. It did have me reaching for the dictionary at times.
I was engrossed in a world of medieval times of lords and knights, of wizardry to overthrow kingdoms and maintain power. The author takes the reader on a whirlwind journey as we follow the development of each character and one begins to wonder how it will all come together: one character having come into windfall, one posted in a region that had been plagued with death, the sudden re-emerging of a people that were believed to be long extinct and a power struggle for rulership. The story is more dramatized by the use of magic coupled with the art of dance both as a means to an end which makes it an even more compelling read.
I would rate this book a 5 for the following reasons:
-The plot thickens as you go along,
-The suspense lingers just enough to whet your appetite and have you wanting more,
-The language is precise and incorporates a wide use of vocabulary.
-This book makes you want to take your time to savor every detail.
-There are few moments of laughter too which gives balance to the story amidst the serious nature of the drama.
-You can follow the storyline and not feel lost because of overwhelming details.
