Designed to instill the significance of proper hygiene and well-being in young minds, "Doctoroo & the Case of the Hacking Hippo" is the second enchanting installment in the DOCTOROO series by Dr. Rachel B. Wellner. In this series, we follow the adventures of Dr. Marsha Roo, affectionately known as Doctoroo, a brilliant medical professional with a knack for solving peculiar health mysteries.

Doctoroo receives a special invitation to the iconic Sydney Opera House, where the famous opera singer Hilda Hippo is set to perform. However, the excitement takes an unexpected turn as Hilda's persistent cough becomes a puzzling medical challenge. With the looming prospect of performing in front of the Queen of England, Doctoroo and her team step up to unravel the mystery behind Hilda's ailment. Will they succeed in diagnosing and helping Hilda in time for her royal performance, or will the hacking hippo's mystery prove too challenging?

Illustrated with charm by Irina Dringova, the book spans 27 pages, creating a visual delight for young readers. The illustrations seamlessly complement the narrative, making the story engaging and captivating. Dr. Wellner's storytelling not only entertains but also educates children on the importance of personal hygiene. The plot cleverly weaves in lessons about avoiding germs and maintaining cleanliness, all while keeping the reader entertained with the mystery surrounding Hilda's cough.

The valuable information shared in the book goes beyond hygiene. Dr. Wellner incorporates interesting tidbits, such as the architectural marvel of the Sydney Opera House, taking the opportunity to educate young minds about the world around them. From the construction history of the iconic opera house to insights about mold growth and the specific environmental conditions that affect musical instruments, such as their optimal performance in cooler temperatures, the book imparts knowledge in a simple and accessible manner.

Personally, I found "Doctoroo & the Case of the Hacking Hippo" to be a flawless gem. The storytelling is impeccable, and the incorporation of humor adds an extra layer of delight. The book succeeds in its mission to educate and entertain simultaneously. Therefore, I wholeheartedly give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

In conclusion, I recommend "Doctoroo & the Case of the Hacking Hippo" to parents, teachers, and kids seeking an entertaining yet educational book. The perfect blend of storytelling, illustrations, and valuable information makes it a must-have addition to any young reader's collection.

There is fun reading and illustrations to captivate the child while learning about cleanliness, personal hygiene, architecture, the conditions for mold, the best conditions to play a musical instrument, and solving a mystery.
