As Queen-designate of the planet Triannon, Nissa has lived the pampered and strictly structured life of a princess with a future and husband already decided for her. When ruthless and bloodthirsty aliens invade her beautiful planet, Nissa, along with ninety-nine other Trianni, launch into space within cryo-pods in an attempt to locate help and save her home and her people. When a fierce warrior from the Argentus Tribe, Tam, finds her floating through space, he does all he can to save her life, regardless of the consequences.

Will Nissa find the help she needs in Tam to save Triannon and her people? Will this Bond that ties Nissa to Tam be their salvation or their demise? Will she choose her freedom or choose to free the Trianni people from slavery? After so much time has passed since her family ruled Triannon, would those living there even accept their help?

In book one of the "Tribe Warrior Series", The Bonding, author Imogen Keeper paints a vivid picture of a colorful world set in space and details the trials and tribulations that afflict her characters. The main protagonists, Nissa and Tam, feel the many ups and downs related to love and loss so prolifically that, as a reader, I laughed, loved, and cried with them.

While I appreciated the original story line and Keeper's attention to detail, I would have liked to see more description go into the male protagonist, Tam. Throughout the story there are many details and descriptions of Nissa, Triannon, Argentus, and the supporting, minor characters, however, Tam remained vague in my mind. There are little details thrown out here and there in the text, however, not enough to really envision the man, aside from being tall, dark, and handsome. Despite this complaint, The Bonding was a fun book that took me about a day to read. Overall, I would rate it 3 out of 4 stars.

The Bonding is science fiction romance novel full of action, adventure, and a ton of steamy erotica. With an inventive and original plot, memorable characters, and quick-paced story line, The Bonding is an enjoyable and fun read. Fair warning, this tale goes from zero to sixty in the steaminess factor pretty early on and continues throughout the entire story. If you enjoy hot and heavy romance novels with a science-fiction based plot I would recommend reading this book.

Reader warning: There is a highly detailed scene of attempted rape in this story, proceed with caution.
