This book is titled Roadmap to the End of Days. The book is written by award winning author Daniel Friedmann.

This book sets out on the monumental task of decoding the end of our time. The author tries to reconcile Torah, Jewish Holy Book, accounts with scientific observations. The book gives a good summary of the history of the Israelites. It looks at the ultimate end of human time. It explores some esoteric theories derived from mainstream biblical history. However, it does not make any reference to the Christian Bible’s New Testament and hence, disappointingly, failed to make any reference to the Book of Revelation, from where the term “end times” came from.

The author followed the path of assuming the authenticity of the Torah but not the New Testament. So, Christian readers may find this book controversial as the author does not seem to understand that the Messiah has already come. The author makes much about salvation through observance of the so-called Noahite Commandments. This is of course contrary to Christian belief that salvation is given to mankind by the supreme grace of God through the resurrection of his Son.

The book insists that the timeframe for arriving at the End of Days is fixed by Cosmic design. But the argument presented seems a bit weak. I suppose it is understandable given the magnitude of the subject matter. I feel that there are too many hearsays upon which the author progresses his arguments. Based upon that he has created a grand alternative view of mankind’s history postulating further how the End of Days could potentially be achieved. An interesting corollary is introduced to bring the idea that mankind’s timeline is actually the six days of creation played out over a much longer period of time.

There seems to be confusion between the devil and the Amalekites. The book seems to give the Amalekites, descendants of Esau’s grandson, greater role than the devil in thwarting God’s grand plan. It is not quite clear why that is. Quite a bit of loose ends in the arguments presented. The author concludes that the Amalekites, will always try to prevent the dawning of the messianic age. The author concludes that the Amalekite descendants exist to this day but we do not know who or where they are.

Overall, quite a daunting and heavy read. Rather technical in nature. This book feels very much like a work in progress. It could well be a scientific thesis on how to foretell the end time. Almost a third of the book comprises the glossary, appendices and list of references. The number of historical names is overwhelming. It feels like the book does not have much of an ending. Going through the book raises a lot of new questions and not many answers about the immediate destiny of mankind. I am still left wondering what the immediate future of mankind will be. A future generation will get to the End of Days by default. I feel a bit let down that it does not describe, nor hint at, what the End of Days is like.

I rate this book with 1 out of 4 stars. I am not giving this book a better rating because some of the arguments are simply not compelling. There are too many suppositions and conjectures that I feel that this book should be classed as a work of fiction.
