We all have been programmed to search for love, to go on a quest for it, and to believe that it is indeed the purpose of our lives; however, that might not be as definitive or right in the grand scheme of life. The novel Are You Love Smart or Love Stupid by Dr. Rachel Sims answers, quite boldly, all the questions surrounding the larger-than-life concept of love and everything that we know about it so far.

There are many misconceptions around love and marriage that have existed for decades, if not centuries, like that a partner will change for the better after marriage, that a baby will solve marriage problems, or that a woman should play hard to get them. These misconceptions are wonderfully addressed by the author.

A thoroughly resonating concept that is constant through different stages of a relationship, be it dating or marriage, is that a person has to have a healthy amount of self-respect and self-love for themselves before looking for fulfillment within a partner, although it is just as true that a partner cannot entirely be responsible for creating the feelings of fulfillment or contentment. There also has to be a healthy enforcement of boundaries as well as clarity on the core ideas that each person believes in.

In a world that grapples with superficial affection, perfectionism, and many dating advices, Dr. Rachel Sims has eloquently put forward her thoughts and takeaways that will essentially lead one to a 'good enough' love life. There are many practical suggestions and methods shared that enrich the overall reading experience. The author has several dating myths with examples and scenarios, which is really helpful for the reader.

The novel has no grammatical or editing mistakes as such. It is perfect for readers who wish to create and nurture a healthy love life and marriage, and thus I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The book has insightful information and suggestions that help a great deal. It is properly arranged and keeps the reader engaged till the end and thus leads them to a successful and vibrant love life.
