My Trip to Adele by A.I.Alyaseer, R.I.Alyaseer is consist of three different stories about love and family. The story is inspired by the heart-warming songs of Adele and her concert to Verona, Italy. Each story has a different setting with different locations across the world. They all intend to watch Adele’s concert in Italy. The first story is about a man longing for his first love. From Italy, he went back to Marrakesh, Morocco only to find out that his first love went gone and no one seems to know where she went. Meanwhile, in Las Vegas USA a couple is seeking for advice from a marriage councillor in order to save their family from breaking apart and for them to find a reason to stay with each other. While in Amman, Jordan a divorced women is fighting for her right against her employer to have a vacation leave so she can spend her time with her only son and fight for her freedom in making a decision concerning her son against his abusive and conceited ex-husband.

As each of the characters face challenges in their own lives, Adele songs became their companion and inspiration during difficult times. The characters can relate with the song’s lyrics making them all desperate to watch and hear Adele singing live. Unfortunately, not all of them were able to watch the concert but still ended up happy and contended with their decision and still grateful to Adele for her wonderful music that serves as a hope that they can fulfil whatever is missing in their lives.

I love the title and the story itself not just because I am also a fan of Adele but because of what the story consist and how it ended up very well. I like how the author describe every detail of the setting making the readers imagine how does the place looks like and helping the readers understand the culture and beliefs of each character since they are located in different places. The content of each story is more likely happening in reality and not a typical romantic story full of red roses and butterflies that we normally see in books or movies. A very good example part of the story where it is more likely happening in reality is when the couple who’s currently seeking for a marriage councillor looks like a perfect family in social media while the truth is that their marriage had become an aimless excursion, full of yelling and quarrels as described by the husband on the story. I also like the way the author made a reference of Inside Out movie about the relationship where the husband feel that his ‘Love Island’ had collapsed.

I really like the book and I will recommend it especially to all fans of Adele because I’m pretty sure as they read the book they will also noticed how the author or should I say the authors really love Adele not just because they are inspired by Adele’s lyrics but it is more likely because how they were able to create a story out of those lyrics.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I could have rate it with 4 except for I don’t like how the sequence of the story where made. Since it is consist of three different stories I thought that the characters are somehow related to each other or they will meet each other along the way or at the concert. The first chapters were confusing because after each chapter it will jump off to another story which is completely different from the previous story. I have to admit that I re-read the first chapters in order for me to check how they are all related to each other only to find out that it is completely different from one another. I think that it will be better if the sequence will be made based on the current story and not jumping from one story to another. As this may cause not only confusion but the anticipation of what will happen next to be ruined. For instance, the part where in the son of the divorced woman got shot on a celebration it left me hanging in anticipation what could possibly happened to the kid because after that specific chapter ended the next chapter again jump off to a different story making my excitement to fade because I’m currently thinking of the new chapter. Even though I like how all the three stories ended I still don’t like the way it was made on one chapter which is “Adele 25” because I feel that it all got mixed up even if the three stories are happening at the same time it could have been better if they still separate each ending from one another.

Overall, I like the uniqueness of the story and the choice of Adele’s song.
