Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole is a Science Fiction story about the power of faith and how it can overcome the worst of demons. Although nowadays religion can be considered an extremely sensitive subject, this story allows you to explore the different sides of religion and how it can be used to accomplish a common goal.

Raven's Peak takes us into a world where faith is the cornerstone to battling the everyday demons that plague our world. One of our main characters, Haatim is trying to learn how to survive in a world that he doesn't understand after a devastating loss. Our other character, Abigail is looking for the man who raised her to save him from endless torture. These two are forced together when Haatim ends up working for a demon when Abigail saves his life after Haatim realizes who he is working for. Throughout the story, Haatim and Abigail learn to depend on each other and battle the hardships that are placed in front of them. They also overcome their fears and learn how to believe and have faith once again.

Haatim starts out the story in a deep depression after suffering through a loss that completely rocked his faith and life. He's struggling to get through the days and find work, thus he is completely relatable to the average person. He goes through his own trials and tribulations back to the faith that he was raised upon and grew up believing in. Abigail is one that was raised in the life as a Hunter for the Council of Chaldea, it is pretty much all she had ever known and groomed to do. Through the story her main focus is saving her adoptive father, the man who saved her and raised her.

I enjoyed this book very much, the only downside was that I could put it down for days at a time and then pick it back up and start again. It's very descriptive, I could picture in my mind what the character's looked like, the battles that ensued, the scenery, everything was extremely clear and concise, as if the author was there the whole time.

I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. As I said it's a very good book and I highly recommend it, but I could put it down easily. I wasn't as drawn into it as I am with other books. I thoroughly enjoyed the incorporation of all the different religions of the world and how they can be used together to eradicate the evil that lurks in the world.
