Review of Reconfigurement
It is inevitable that we will, one day, reach the age where the government considers it fit for us to retire from work. At this point, income stops accordingly, and life becomes less bursting as we are limited in our choice to enjoy life with money. However, what if one is prepared for this retirement time? How can one prepare for their retirement period? The logic of preparing for retirement time in the US, many of whose principles are applicable in countries outside the US, is chronicled in the book “Reconfigurement."
E. Alan Fleischauer's book, 'Reconfigurement,' provides valuable insights into the opportunities awaiting individuals during their retirement. It also offers guidance on preparing for this phase to ensure financial resources are in place, enabling one to fully embrace the freedom and possibilities that come with retirement.
This book is written with clarity and conciseness. It treats hard concepts in simpler ways, such that someone who is not vast in financial terms and jargon would make sense of the message in it. The author actually claims that reconfiguration means planning ahead, as we are bound to grow old. The book helps with eye-opening anecdotes about how people work in their youthful years, but only a few plan for what their retirement period would look like. The provided strategic principles help one make good use of their working periods to build financial security for themselves using the informed financial aid programs out there, such as investment opportunities, insurance, jobs, etc.
I find the book particularly compelling as it delves into essential aspects of securing a comfortable retirement. It convincingly argues why readers should approach their retirement period with a serious mindset and emphasizes the necessity of thorough planning. As I navigate the aging process, the book enlightens me on the significance of adopting a comprehensive retirement plan, encompassing crucial elements like healthcare, pension benefits, and cultivating a vibrant retirement lifestyle involving leisure travel and recreation.
What stands out for me is the author's insightful education on the fundamental principle of configuring finances. The guidance provided encourages making optimal use of income to address immediate needs while simultaneously strategizing for a secure retirement future. This holistic approach to financial management resonates with me, offering valuable insights that extend beyond mere fiscal considerations. Overall, the book serves as a practical and enlightening companion for anyone keen on navigating the journey towards a fulfilling and comfortable retirement.
I would love to rate the book 5 out of 5 stars because, first, I have no objective reasons to rate the book less; I have no negative side of it to point out. The serious topic is lit up by the humorous narrating style the author uses in passing his intended message. Also, I found no grammar errors in the book, which means it has been exceptionally well edited. I would recommend the book to lovers of self-help books and those looking to know how they could possibly utilize their current income to prepare for retirement.
