Love, romance, struggles and that deja vu feeling that follows you.
These are the elements Amanda and Mark has to deal with. Determined to find out where they know each other from, they embark on a journey to find the answer.

Set in Chicago in the present day, a fateful event brings the two characters together. They both have a feeling that they know each other, but has no idea from where.

An accident occurs in front of an antique store and, Amanda finds herself saving Mark's life. Her attention is drawn to a grandfather clock in the store, the ticking and chimes from the clock, pulls her in, and again, she has that feeling of deja vu.

Will Amanda find the answers with the help of past life regressions? Will Mark be able to convince Amanda to give him a chance at love? What is the meaning of the inscription found inside the grandfather clock? Will all the answers be found in Yesterday?

Yesterday written by the talented Samyann is a perfect combination of a historical novel and a modern day love story. It is quite clear that the author did a tremendous amount of research on The Civil War era and post Civil War era history for this book.

Each character is portrayed perfectly, they are brought to life by the author and the reader is sure to fall in love with them. The author did not try to create perfect characters, they are all flawed in some way, which is probably the reason why the reader is drawn to them from beginning to end. My favorite character was Amanda. I was able to relate to her on so many different levels. I found myself wanting to BE her so many times.

This is quite a charming love story. Regardless of the many love scenes between Amanda and Mark, they don't ever seem explicit. Personally, I love that. It proves that romance can be enchanting without being focused on just sex and nudity. The author manages to portray love and romance in a pure and innocent form, and I really like that about this book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The characters are brought to life perfectly. The amount of research is astounding. The author has managed to combine the 21st century and the 19th century in a non-confusing way. I will definitely be reading more books that have been written by Samyann.
