The book, Escape is of romantic thriller genre by a very talented author, Belle Ami published by Hartwood Publishing Group. It is a romance fiction story set in Middle East wherein the female main character, Layla Rose, an Art History student of Harvard University goes to Dubai with her Arab boyfriend for a vacation. They were then abducted and were taken to Iran. Cyrus Hassani, the male main character who is an undercover Mossad agent was tasked to rescue Layla and successfully saved her from her abductors. Little did Layla know that Cyrus Hassani has a big secret of his own. A big secret that could get them both to death. Layla considered Cyrus as her “superman” for rescuing her from the salacious and cruel hands of her captor and the fact that Cyrus was her knight in shining armor woken up feelings from Layla. Amidst the dangers of the ruthless group following their trail, they were unable to deny the fatal attraction they felt to each other. Although this kind of plot is nothing new to a romantic thriller story, the author Belle Ami still made the flow of the story as uniquely as possible that makes the novel an interesting one.
This was a very interesting book that makes your heart pulsate while Layla and Hassani run for their life to escape the unscrupulous group following their track, it makes your heart flutter with the hot sexy scenes depicted on this book, and it will definitely feed your brain with additional knowledge on the dangerous aspects that some Middle East countries have to go through because of each countries’ different cultures, beliefs and differences that resulted to international conflicts and warfare.
I must say Cyrus and Layla met each other at the wrong place and at a wrong time but they still found time to express or bring out the feelings they can no longer deny, those feelings that became stronger as they go through the dangerous hurdles that the warfare of two countries brought them to their predicament. An excerpt from the book where Cyrus said to Layla after one of those petrifying moments endangering their lives, “My angel, let your tears fall because I will always be here to catch them.”
The story in this book was well delivered, grammatically correct and precisely created. The author has a very wide range of imagination and is very knowledgeable of the demographic, geography and the different cultures of Middle East that reading the descriptions of these countries and its people makes it believable enough as if me or you as the reader has gone there. The author must have gone through a lot of research before going through with writing this book and for that I truly admire her efficiency in creating a very well written novel.
I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars for it is indeed a book worth reading, the plot will give you mixed feelings that will keep you entertained, for I had a great time reading it so much so that I had to read it in one sitting. I will surely recommend this book to anyone who is fond of reading romantic thriller and definitely will look out for more literary creations by Belle Ami.
