"Reconfigurement" by E. Alan Fleischauer is an incredibly informative non-fiction self-help book that attempts to open the eyes of readers to the harsh reality of life after retirement.

The book attempts to draw readers' attention to the significant differences between life in 1930 when the average life expectancy was around 65–70, and now that almost 30 years have been added to the life expectancy of the average human due to advancements in medicine, nutrition, and a whole lot of modern-day technology that make formerly fatal illnesses not so fatal. While an increase in average life expectancy is a great thing, it also has a significant drawback, which is an increase in the number of years after retirement.

Since the age of retirement hasn't changed, this results in a relatively small amount of time to actually work and plan for life after retirement. For instance, if initially, in the 1930s, $1 million could cater for life after retirement, with the increase in life expectancy experienced in the last decade, $1 million will probably no longer give you a quality post-retirement life. The author provides readers with a simple solution to this problem. He suggests that people also indulge in side businesses (most especially self-employed, easy-to-carry-out side hustles); that way, you can keep earning even during retirement. Join E. Alan Fleischauer in this eye-opening experience as he educates readers on how to attain a quality post-retirement life.

One notable strength of the book is the factual evidence it provides. Throughout the book, E. Alan Fleischauer provides the statistics and evidence for almost every fact he states. This shows the level of research and effort the author put into bringing this book to life. The book also boasts very important information that every adult needs. I must also commend the editing of the book, as I noticed no significant grammatical or spelling errors; it was exceptionally well edited.

I found myself without any dislike whatsoever for the book. While it might be a bit boring for younger readers (mainly because of its overly numerical focus), the targeted audience (adults) will have no problem with it.

I'd rate E. Alan Fleischauer's "Reconfigurement" 5 out of 5 stars for the helpful information it contains, the factual evidence to support its claims, and its flawless editing.

I'd recommend this book to every adult reader who'd love to enjoy a quality post-retirement life.
