[Following is a volunteer review of "Butterfly Awakens" by Meg Nocero.]
In this memoir, Meg tells us about her journey since her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, going through her passing away and her transformation through grief.
Meg Nocero is an amazing storyteller. She told her story in such an honest and inspiring way. Also, we can see, through this book, how strong and courageous Meg is.
Losing your mother, the one person who is always there for you, who supports you during the good and the hard times, someone who loves you unconditionally, and having to survive without them in this plain, is one of the hardest times a person can go through in their life. As if going through grief wasn't enough, she also had a hard time with her job. Meg was strong and brave enough not to give up, she asked for help so she could begin to heal; she held on to faith with the help of her friends and walked out of the dark hole her life had become, and started the path to a better life, to a happy life. "This was what I had chosen. Not giving up would define so much for me. How could I not try?"
I really enjoyed this memoir, I loved the authenticity with which Meg describes the most difficult phase of her life. Meg's writing is just beautiful and inspiring: "One sunset giving way to the sunrise of hope, possibility, and even bliss." ; "We are finding direction in the chaos, finding purpose in the pain, finding our voice, finding our way. We wander together side by side, love is our mission!"
In addition to Meg's natural talent as a writer, this book is professionally edited, which makes this narrative such a smooth and captivating read. Therefore, in my opinion, this amazing journal of transformation through grief deserves 5 out of 5 stars.
In summary, this is a great emotional story, showing Meg's heart, her grief, and how she was strong enough to move on, bringing us close to her.
