Discard the habit of extolling picture-perfect plots and empathetic characters, the many too-often trodden paths. In comparison to the other Stevie Tenderheart series novels, "Stevie Tenderheart Books: Billy Jack (The Great Escape)" still has that touch of uniqueness—the charm, if it works—but what makes it exceptional is its subtle celebration of childhood rebellion and ingenuity.

Billy Jack is not just a dear rascal; he is a minuscule revolution. Rather than just being a source of comedy, his multi-step strategy is also an instruction in insurgency. It goes from nailing the life-size dummy to doing away with the evidence peacefully as Billy Jack shares with teens how to take on and beat the web of power and discipline without any struggles. This is, of course, a comedy, so the character doesn't exactly get their way. Author Steve William Laible skillfully traverses the boundary between occurrence and farce by using the consequences. The story is not going to criminalize Billy Jack, but his career just gets very dirty and complicated. Kids will laugh subconsciously when they see how the barriers that they choose to cross give them natural consequences, which sticks more than any moralizing.

Grown-ups would have a kind of smile that is more like an adult smile. The anger, hollow replies, and bizarre mix of amusement and exasperation—Laible captures the uniquely parental experience of seeing energy in which you know your child can escape her limits. This is both an endearment and a little self-irony; nevertheless, it is a hilarious book for children and adults.

The fact that the plan that the main character will use for the breakout is very realistic and cool is even more remarkable. It is so far-fetched; however, I find that the attention to detail and the problem-solving show how even a child's mind has a very convoluted thought process. A literary work such as this one may seem absurd and incredible to readers of all ages, but one thing is for sure: no one considers imitating Billy Jack.

Rating this book 5 out of 5 stars is an understatement because of how flawlessly and amazingly edited it has turned out, and I did not find anything about it that can be overlooked or despised while reading this book. It's a laugh trip that smacks at the fumes of the status quo, albeit in a very subtle way that will entertain readers of all ages. This bedtime story isn't just a good bedtime story; it's a musical belle with the slight chance that all of us mini-masterminds one day will be able to fulfill our inner champions.
