Raven’s Peak
Lincoln Cole
Raven’s Peak by Lincoln Cole is the first book in a fictional series of demonic threats. This enthralling tale involves a war of the supernatural between good and evil. When a town becomes the location of strange activity, Abigail and Haatim begin an innocent adventure they may wish they would not have embarked on. What they discover will either be the catalyst for their future success or destroy not only their lives, but the lives of thousands.
Lincoln Cole has a noteworthy ability to focus on the details and sensations of his characters. From page one, the author pulls on the heart strings of the reader by allowing access into the characters personalities and emotions. While Abigail and Haatim battle their own figurative demons of their past experiences of loss, they begin a literal battle of demons they may not be ready for. Due to Lincoln’s ability to place the reader in the heart of the novel with his beautiful literacy, Raven’s Peak becomes an undeniable amazing book!
The author apprises the reader of background information and issues the characters possess. This creates a story of not just supernatural commotion but one of family, legacy, loss, and subconscious struggles. Abigail and Haatim both have a dramatic incident(s) which seems to radically shape their morals and standards. Their past correlates to who they have become in the present. With Lincoln’s description of Abigail and Haatim’s relationship, it clearly begins on a whim but develops into one of trust, honesty, and protection.
This action packed novel is a page turner filled with suspense and thrill. The progress and movement of the storyline is impeccable. There is not a portion of the book that becomes sluggish or makes the reader discontent. The narrative enthuses the reader with every chapter, creating a sense of urgency to continue reading. The conclusion even creates that urgency by requiring the reader to finish the series not out of obligation, but out of pure enjoyment to know the rest of Abigail and Haatim’s escapades.
Overall, Raven’s Peak from beginning to end will not disappoint. The book is professionally edited and written by a passionate author who draws the reader into a unique account of supernatural warfare. Ethics are challenged, family dynamics are confronted, confidence and dependence are established, and discoveries of the characters’ true colors are rampant.
I rate Raven’s Peak as a 3 out of 4 stars. My reasoning behind the 3 stars is simply because it was not one of the most absolute best books I have ever read. It was a great book, and I do not regret reading it. I would even recommend others to read it. I think most of my perspective on 3 stars is because this is not my typical genre of fiction I gravitate to. However, Lincoln Cole did an exceptional job and I fully plan on completing the series.
