[Following is a volunteer review of "Followed my Star" by AR Annahita.]

The third volume of Followed My Star is a supposed new age philosophy book. It explores the balance in life, which can pertain to spirituality, politics, and the economy. Author A.R. Annahita tries to offer a new perspective in planting the seeds for world peace.

The early chapters deal with the controversial subjects of religion and politics, race, abortion, and homosexuality. It all starts off decent enough. The author talks about God and happiness, the freedoms of America, and what it’s like to be a foreigner. It soon gets messy. A.R. Annahita starts to offer solutions—more like her opinion—on how people should live.

Maybe Annahita meant well when writing this, but she sticks too much of her views and beliefs into the narrative. We’re told why abortion is okay, why we’re being ripped off when paying for healthcare, and why we shouldn’t listen to Fox News, which is a “corrupted news station.” That statement about Fox News felt very out of place in a book that wishes to grow world peace.

The author goes on about how Republicans are wrong, how rich people are wrong, how big corporations are wrong, and how the idea of “the balance” could solve all of America’s problems. She believes that the rich would somehow be immoral and heartless if they didn’t keep the balance by aiding the middle class. A few paragraphs are written to guilt-trip the rich, and to make them feel that they’re dishonest Americans. Around chapters 7 and 8 was when I got turned off by this one-sided narrative. The philosophy of finding your life’s balance isn’t explained the best way in this book.

In later chapters, the author further talks about America’s problems. At one point, Annahita even refers to the Republicans as “inhuman.” I started getting a little uncomfortable reading this, but I soldiered on for the sake of writing this review. The last chapters seemed like a bunch of tirades about America, the rich, and those who are deemed materialistic. The author also believes that the concept of the Law of Attraction was created by the Illuminati or Free Masons, the evil elite. Yeah, this book got frightening. I could feel the belligerence in the paragraphs, almost as though these were Annahita’s drunken rants.

I give this book 1 out of 4 stars. The sentences were poorly structured, and there’s also a good amount of grammatical errors. This book about wanting world peace and finding God was loaded with judgmental statements. I found a lot of it to be horrendous. The description of this book says, “You will finally figure out yourself and the world around you by reading this book.” That had to be a joke. I gained nothing reading this book, and no way was this book about promoting world peace. I don’t think anyone should read this. These chapters are filled with anger and negativity.

I like your nice and honest review. I read and reviewed this book and the best i could give it was 1 star. If this book could have undergone editing, the editor would have discouraged her from publishing this book which i would not recommend to anyone. It's a time waster.
