“The Shot Not Heard Around the World” by Charlie Damitz is a short tale, easy to read in a few hours, that talks about a specific moment in history, during the American Revolutionary War, in 1775.

The tale doesn't talk strictly about the war, but it's about a single musket gunshot that changed a lot of things, the gunshot that Jeremy never shot, and that changed his life forever.

The book doesn't just focus on the gunshot itself. It also talks about what happened before and after. This helps you understand why the gunshot was such a big deal. It's like looking at a whole story, not just one part of it.

What's fascinating about this book is that it tells the stories of different people who were involved. It's not just about famous leaders, it's also about regular people who were affected by what happened. This makes the book more relatable and helps you see how big events impact everyone.

Charlie Damitz writes in a way that's easy to understand. Even if you don't know a lot about history, you won't feel lost. He explains things in simple words so that anyone can follow along.

The book does a great job of painting a picture of what life was like during that time. You can imagine yourself there, seeing and hearing everything that's happening. It's like going back in time and experiencing history firsthand.

But “The Shot Not Heard Around the World” isn't just about the past. It also makes you think about how small actions can have big consequences. It shows how one moment in history can change everything that comes after it. And even though the book is about something that happened a long time ago, it still has lessons that are relevant today.

In general, this book is interesting, but it's not for everybody, because the author added a lot of medical descriptions talking about blood, amputations, wounds and rude treatments. The book anyway is easy to read, it tells a great story, and it makes you think. Whether you love history or just want to learn something new, you'll enjoy reading it.

In conclusion, I found this book nice, original and well edited. The topic is unusual, but the author faced it with a good writing style, making the story not boring at all.

I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
