This is a bedtime story. A Second Kiss Goodnight by Stevie Tenderheart revolves around Stevie needing two kisses from various neighborhood animals to fall asleep. The story describes the chaotic and hurried nature of the animals trying to give Stevie his second kiss before bedtime. Animals like skunks, moose, geese, cows, slugs, snails, ants, and worms contribute to the frenzy, while baby pigeons, penguins, and pelicans offer gentle and comforting kisses. Despite the unusual and sometimes overwhelming encounters, Stevie finds solace in the bedtime routine involving these creatures.

The narrative emphasizes the importance of animals and creatures in helping children sleep peacefully. It portrays a whimsical and magical atmosphere where wishes and dreams come alive under the twinkling stars and moonlight. The story highlights the love and care shared between the animals, creatures, and children in the neighborhood.

Additionally, the book includes quotes that celebrate the beauty, bravery, and remarkable nature of children, encouraging them to believe in themselves and the power of knowledge. Stevie Tenderheart's dedication to bringing smiles, giggles, and positivity to children's lives is evident throughout the story, creating a heartwarming and imaginative bedtime experience for young readers. The book also includes a list of things to check for so that you can confirm that you have been "twice-kissed goodnight" (a phrase that the author uses). 

The book ends with quotes from famous individuals and mentions the author's collection of bedtime storybooks. I found no negative aspects in this book at all. The book is professionally edited. There are no spelling or grammatical errors in this book.

Much like all the other Stevie Tenderheart books I have read, I loved this one too. It is a quick read. This is a dedication to children, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and the power of books. It encourages children to use their imagination while reading and highlights the value of play and truthfulness. I would rate this book five out of five stars. I would suggest this book to parents who read their kids a wonderful bedtime story.
