[Following is a volunteer review of "Chubby Wubbles" by M. J. Abrams.]
Chubby Wubbles : A Ferret's Tale, written by M.J. Abrams, is a sweet story about a cute little ferret named Chubby. Chubby and Coco live with their owner, Mark, and are pretty happy with each other's company. But one morning, things change as Coco goes missing. Chubby is left sad and lonely in his playpen. As Mark is unable to take care of Chubby, he asks his brother Jeffrey to take care of him.
Chubby is more than happy to go to Jeffrey, as he plays with Chubby and gives him a lot of attention. Chubby begins his new adventure with Jeffrey. However, he also misses his old friend, Coco. When he gets the first opportunity, Chubby steps out of the house to look for Coco. What happens when Chubby steps out of his comfort zone? Does he find Coco? Or does he land himself in some trouble?
What I liked the most about this book were the cute pictures. The ferrets and the geese shown in the book are adorable. Any child with pets or who loves animals will love this story. The relationship between animals and humans has been portrayed very well. The author has made a point of showing how even animals need our attention.
I think a valuable lesson has been imparted in this book. Animals may not use words to communicate with us. But they have other ways to express their needs. It is up to us humans to decipher those needs. If we can't take good care of them, we must ensure their safety and happiness in other ways.
This book would be a wonderful opportunity for parents to have important conversations with their children. Taking care of a pet is not all fun and games. It's more about going above and beyond our needs and taking care of someone else. Pets can also feel lonely. They have the same emotions that we go through. Therefore, we need to make sure that we are fulfilling all the needs of our pets.
Overall, there wasn't anything that I disliked about the book. The book has been edited pretty well for the most part. I would be more than happy to give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would also recommend this book for all kids in the age group of 5 to 10 years. I would especially recommend this book if parents and their children are having discussions about getting pets.
