Elise Halverson in Hello My Love by Evy Journey, is a beautiful student at a law school. Her male friends see her as a 'cold Fish'. After two unpleasant, sexual experiences, she, naively, grows to believe that buzzing. Greg, her family friend and a playboy millionaire, in his early thirties, sees her different from all the other women he managed to drive to his bedroom. She is 'fiercely independent', inaccessible and treats him indifferently. He is determined to lead her to his bed, as well. Although he will get married after two days, unexpectedly, Greg and Elise fall in love to each other. Would he give his exceptionally beautiful fiancée Lori Williams the boot? Would they, Elise and Greg, manage to enjoy true love and each changes their viewpoint of the other?

The story is mainly set in San Francisco Bay area, west of the USA, but ends in Provence, France, in the second half of the twentieth century. Just like Elizabeth Bennett in Jane Austen's masterpiece Pride and Prejudice, taking time into consideration, Elise looks reluctant to start a new relationship with any man, whatever he is. Regardless of the romantic tension, between the heroine and the hero, the round characters whom the writer chose to be university students or graduates, and the psychological conflict that needs special care to handle, and that all add complexity to the plot, Evy Journey amazingly manages to keep the pace smooth. Nevertheless, the closing chapter seems to be written hurriedly. It would absolutely be more enjoyable if it were a little longer.

Adult readers, of all walks of life, will love the characters, all the characters. They may dislike a few or even some of them in the first chapters, but on further reading, on the turning point, and because of the excellent development, the word 'dislike' will definitely lose its first syllable. In addition to that, the plot makes several positive twists that disintegrate the negative impact which may appear on the reader's mind. That same reader will turn to maturely understand those characters and guess or even predict what the next point or situation will be.

Hello My Love is a love story, but of different romance. Readers may feel disappointed because the well-designed and beautiful book cover and title will appear deceitful and don't go with the content of the first few chapters. That impression will soon fade away in the middle of the story and after, and readers will certainly get pleasure in reading more chapters up to the end.

Because of the contradiction in the First Chapter "… and then dressing hurriedly for dinner…(about two pages later)…She had taken extra care dressing up for this evening's dinner…", the unconvincing ground that forbade Greg from calling Elise or her parents, his friends, for two long years, and the reason behind involving Lori in the hit-and-run accident, and regardless of the fact that I love the book and recommend it, I, with sorrow, rate Hello My Love by Evy Journey 3 out of 4 stars.
