[Following is a volunteer review of "Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book" by Kalliope Barlis.]
Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book by Kalliope Barlis is a self-help book that uses NLP and visualization techniques to master golf in a short time. It summarizes key aspects of her previous golf book and takes it one step further in understanding key concepts.
This book carries over the great work the author did in the original book, "Play Golf Better Faster: The Classic Guide to Optimizing Your Performance and Building Your Best Fast." This book also contains three parts similar to the previous book. However, it was designed to be read quickly, so the primary focus is on the exercises. Part one contains the mental exercises using NLP techniques. The techniques used by her are surprisingly good and original. Part two is regarding the physical aspects of the game, which contains the on-field golf exercises. Part 3 contains topics about the finer aspects of the game.
What I liked about the book is that it is very short and can be carried anywhere, like a pocketbook, which was intended by the author. The author recommends that you always keep this with you when going to practice golf. Some additional theoretical explanations are given in this book that build on the concepts of the previous book. The book is also written in very simple language, so even newbies can understand it very easily. The best part is that the author has used the techniques she has taught to become a professional golfer within 2 years. So she holds genuine authority in the field that she is teaching.
What I did not like about the book is that there is not much new in this book from the author's original book. But it does provide a quick reference for the golf players to carry around. Also, if you don't think NLP works, I would still suggest you give these techniques a chance before dismissing them.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
I have given it 5 stars, as there is not much to complain about in the book. The original book and this summary book will both provide great value in your journey to becoming a professional golf player. This book is ideal for golf players of any level, from beginners to advanced.
