This book is one of the best books that reveals clearly what exactly is behind the advertisements we view on a daily basis from our televisions. The author to the book is wise enough to divide the book into three sections i.e. Health Tips, Myths; which are common misconceptions and Tricks used to trap consumer money in exchange of dangerous, uncertified products. When the author does divide the book into these sections, it clearly provides the do and don’t to consumable for our health and he tells how we consumers can avoid unnecessary purchase of products without nutritional values and benefits to our health instead opt to invest on the ones with much more nutrients and benefits to our health. The author goes further to provide the list of food to avoid which are branded to look “natural” but of no benefit.
Talking of weight loss in Chapter one of the book; am glad that the author too recognized that the best means to reduce weight is by reduction of the calories by diet and exercise. The author really elaborates the types of food sources to include in our diets such as those that have equal volumes of carbohydrates. Most time, I have been avoiding consuming Chocolates, thinking that it is not suitable for my health, after reading health tips, Myths, and trick I am certainly convinced to regularly consume chocolate. This book clearly provide tips of some food to avoid especially first food such as chicken pot pie, park margarine sticks and canned soups just to give few examples in order to stay away from cardiovascular disease.
Nevertheless I have noted several corrections in the book such as spacing of words, the publisher joined words in a sentence and words such as
not deleted. In chapter 52 under subtopic mammography, the paragraph begins with “For the average woman”, my two cent correction probably is for the sentence to begin with, “For an average woman”.nitrate
One thing that I liked most about the book is the fact that it provides a brief history of the past research and findings by various institutions and the recommendations that came out from a product research. My question to the author probably would be for him to provide scientific evidence on effects or benefits of whisky and spirit consumption to human body? This comes from rumors that this drinks burn fats in our body.
After reading Health tips, myths and tricks, I would like to rate the book 3 out of 4, because it provides consciousness of my health.
