Linnea Tanner blends historical fiction, fantasy, and Celtic mythology to create an extraordinary, entertaining, and complex story of romance, intrigue, mystery, and legend.

This is the second book in the series "Curse of Clansmen and Kings," which sweeps you into an epic tale of forbidden love, romance plots, and political plots in ancient Rome and Britannia. The story begins with Princess Catrin, the youngest daughter of the king, committing an act of treason by sleeping with their Roman prisoner, altering the future in order to save his life. This singular act worsened the curse on her father.

King Amren charges her with treason, and she has to do everything within her power to win back his trust and love. But that comes with a heavy price: rescinding her love and loyalty to her Roman lover, Marcellus. Linnea Tanner's book Dagger's Destiny provides insight into Princess Catrin's conflict between love and duty. Will she choose her love over her duty to her kingdom?

I found this book appealing for several reasons, such as the flow of the storyline, which kept me engaged till the last page. The characters, especially Catrin, were well-developed, making the story flawless. The plot's locations are incredibly realistic, and Linnea thoroughly researched ancient Rome and Celtic mythology and history. This novel takes you on a journey through history and myths from Britannia to Rome, which I found to be enlightening. I felt for Catrin and Marcellus as they found love where it seemed impossible, and while reading this book, you will understand it better. Incorporating sorcery and shape-shifting with a touch of anticipation generally makes this book stand out.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I have no dislikes, and the storyline was epic with no single error. I must commend the editor for doing a wonderful job. I recommend this book for teens and adults who love history and myths with a touch of fantasy and action.
