[Following is a volunteer review of "NADEEM'S JOURNEY" by Sherine Anniruth.]
NADEEM'S JOURNEY is a book by SHERINE ANNIRUTH a mother who lost her beloved son to cancer. Losing a child is the most saddening thing a parent can ever go through and I cannot even begin to imagine how painful nadeem's death is to her. The void he left behind cannot be filled by someone else and the bond he had built with his family, most importantly his mum cannot be replaced.I went through a rollercoaster of emotions while reading this book.
Kudos to SHERINE for writing this beautiful piece. I wonder how she was able to keep it together even after going through all this.
This book is filled with lessons. One of the lessons I held unto is being attentive to one's body.No matter how small or big it is, get it checked out , do not assume or conclude till you are sure.
I really wish more attention was paid to NADEEM , that young vibrant man filled with lot of potentials.
I also learned to enjoy life because life is too short and we do not know what tomorrow may hold.
Lastly, the importance of family and friends was one of the things I learnt too. During this whole ordeal, NADEEM's family was there to uphold him which made his journey easier because he had shoulders to lean on. That is the MOST BEAUTIFUL THING one can ever ask for.
I won't exclude the fact that NADEEM was a good person because if he was not, people won't have turned up for him the way they did.
When I was reading, I had to use google for some of the medical terms used in the book but when I got to the end of the chapter I saw a glossary explaining all the difficult terms used by SHERINE in the book, that I commend her for.
NADEEM'S JOURNEY is a very good book. The writing and editing was flawless, making it easier to read and comprehend. I highly recommend!
