My Trip to Adele by A.I.Alyaseer and R.I.Alyaseer is a fiction with more than one protagonist. The co-authors of this book love Adele and they just happen to be siblings. It is the first self-published book by A.I.Alyaseer and R.I.Alyaseer.
Elias lives in Rome, Italy. His heart seems to be burdened by his past decisions and he decides to go to Marrakesh, Morocco, to find his lost love. He thinks that he was separated from his beloved by some black magic and spells. His struggle for his love keeps the readers hooked to the book till the end.
Yaser and Mariam, is a married couple who live in Las Vegas, USA and they are very successful surgeons. Due to their busy routines, their relationship stagnates and they feel suffocated. Despite of all issues, Yaser tries very hard to save his relationship with Mariam and plans to go to Adele’s concert in Italy. Yaser loves his children and sacrifices his desires and freedom for them.
Nadia is a divorced, single mother. She lives with her son in Amman, Jordan. She loves her son a lot and can do anything for his happiness. Her son loves Adele and she wants to make him happy by taking him to Adele’s concert in Verona. Nadia lives in a world dominated by men. She is a very ambitious lady and does not care about the rules made by the men of her tribe.
I liked My Trip to Adele. I rate it 3 out of 4 stars. There are many protagonists in the story. Every one of the characters is exceptionally strong and well portrayed. All the characters of this book have depth, which makes the story and the plot more interesting. In spite of the fact that all the characters are distinctive, their love for Adele connects them. I liked the character of Nadia the most. She is a very strong woman. Her love for her son melted my heart. I admire her independent character. I really liked how she stood against her ex-husband and her tribe to protect the rights for her son. Additionally, I appreciate her decision of letting her ex-husband meet his son, which helped her to groom his son very well.
I liked the concept of adding Adele’s songs at the end of each chapter. This gives an edge to the book and its story. All the songs are well suited to the situations and state of mind of the characters depicted in the chapters of the book. The title of the book is also very well justified by the story. Adele’s concert in Verona is highlighted throughout the book, along with the trip made by the characters to go to the concert. While perusing this book, I experienced many emotions such as, anger, love and happiness. This book conveys a message that true love never dies no matter what and purity of love is beyond the sentiments of desire. Moreover, I have learnt about different religions and cultures through this book.
According to me, this book lacks professional editing. It is decently formatted and is written in first person, describing the perspective and story of each character. The book is divided into chapters and paragraphs, which facilitates the readers. Also, the language is easy to read and understand. There are no major grammatical and spelling mistakes. This book will be enjoyed by the readers who love Adele and her songs. Further, people who like to read books with multiple protagonists will also admire this book.
