In Roadmap to End of Days, Daniel Friedmann endeavors to relate the events in history to the present as a map to the future. He likens the lives of mankind through the passing of time as wandering through a maze, giving the reader the benefit of a bird’s eye view. Armed with well researched reference and perspective from different religions, he attempts to show the relation between human behavior and emerging patterns in the present as a result of past actions as a means to point to likely repercussions in the future culminating in the end of days. He addresses the purpose of humanity as part of the cosmic equation, the concept of cause and effect stemming from our connection to divinity and how our deeds, good and bad will determine the timeline of inevitable events.

I appreciate the research and clear reference. I like the flow and clear references through index and quotes from relevant text. It is apparent that Mr. Friedmann put a good deal of time and effort into writing this book. It is an easy book to read and provides food for thought that I believe a good read should.

As far as representation is concerned, I do not agree with the timeline of creation indicated by the author. The notion of one creation day being billions of years is the only part I find a bit of a stretch. It looks like an attempt to marry the evolution and creation theories.

Road map to End of Days would best appeal to readers seeking various views on the subject for the purpose of study, reference and comparison as there is plenty for scholars to consider and debate. It makes for a good reference book. Everything from the body text to the index is thorough and meticulous, facilitating easy and quick reference.

This book would least appeal to readers with a set belief system that is less open in regard to the varying views supported by equally as many arguments both logically sound and otherwise. It would best serve as comparison text rather than a source of guidance.

I rate this book 3 out of 4. This is because, while I appreciate the book as a well-researched and referenced source of literature and indeed a thought provoking read, I would not include it in my library collection. My belief system collides with the contrary elements within the text.
