Aian D. Grey’s book EMA is part of the sci-fi fantasy genre. This genre is fascinating as it joins two of my favourite genres together to create a great, realistic, imaginative outline of a story that will engross you from the very beginning. This novel is a stand-alone novel; however, I seek potential in it, which can in turn create such a compelling series. However, we are not going to dwell on that aspect too much. In this book, we are introduced to the protagonist, Jason, who is currently living in 2084, a time much different from the present day. The author presents us with a world where robots help run Earth. The climate is different, so much so that it is a constant heat wave, so it is constantly warm. The novel begins by describing the character of Jason, who looks up to his idol, Elon Musk. Events occur, which suggests their world is against a heavy presence of threats. But what threats are these? Can Jason fight them, or will anyone else step in and help him?

In this book, we are invited to a world where only heat is available due to climate change, AI is a thing of the future, and robots are helping to contribute to the running of the Earth. It isn't long before there are cyber attacks and explosions as a means to these attacks, and Jason, along with many other characters (ones I am not naming as these will give information away), have to scramble to stop their world from suffering. There is one question that is remaining, and one that had me hooked to find out, and that is: what made the attacks and explosion happen? Who is at fault? And can they be stopped? Can Jason and his team stop any threat to their world? Join Jason on his mission.

There are many positive attributes to this book. For instance, the language in this book is simple., clear, and easy to comprehend. Furthermore, there are no errors found, leading me to believe the book is well-edited to a professional standard and also further enhanced my reading experience. The writing style is also commendable. The writing style adopted by the author for this book is fitting for this book and well-established. The style in which he writes proves how great the author is at telling stories. The outline of this book is well crafted; the characters were well created, and their purpose in the novel was easy to understand and follow. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

In relation to the negative aspects, I did not find anything to dislike. Despite the fact that there were no errors, I would have liked to have seen more from the character of Jason. The characteristics of him seemed slow during the beginning of the book but picked up towards the end of the book, and I liked that.

In summary, I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. Although I would have liked more from the main character, Jason, I do not feel that a star needs to be removed from the overall rating. This being said, along with the positive attributes and the fact that I did not necessarily find anything constructive to say, I believe this book deserves the full rating available. I think that the audience best connected with this narrative is young adults who have a keen interest in the sci-fi and fantasy genres.
