“Launchpad Republic: America's Entrepreneurial Edge and Why it Matters to All of Us,” authors Howard Wolk and John Landry lay out the importance of entrepreneurship and how the American political system has allowed it to flourish through historical and modern case study, setting itself apart from the rest of the world for hundreds of years. Launchpad Republic has been rated 5/5 stars for giving a voice to how some of the most revolutionary ideas, cultural norms, and societal needs have been cultivated through the American entrepreneur. Readers will find that this book is a cumulative effort of history, business, politics, and economics all in one. It is evident that the authors are more than simply knowledgeable but a trusted source as their writing is extremely well-researched and notated. This book engages its audience with thought-provoking realizations on how the creation of business has come to be today. It is worth noting that whether or not the authors have a bias towards the United States feels irrelevant as the book constantly compares factual data and events from the U.S. alongside its counterparts such as historical Great Britain and more modern times with China. With an easy-to-read writing style, the authors have ensured readers can flow through the journey of entrepreneurship with America as their guide. Not only is there focus on the sole-entrepreneur but also on the incumbency of big business and its vital role in the market cycle of economics. Launchpad Republic is an insightful read detailing that there can’t be thriving capitalism without striving for entrepreneurism and vice versa. Without a doubt one can assume this book will be found on the shelves of universities as it is a well-written and documented reference guide for business case study and research. Launchpad Republic is a must-read for not only every business student, but small business owners and corporate CEOs in order to best strategize the direction and future of their companies.
