This book is entitled Followed My Star. It is the latest book by AR Annahita, an author and a Fine Art Photographer.

This is a philosophical book with the aim of guiding the reader on how to find peace in this chaotic world. The author ties to guide the readers towards the middle ground in every endeavour. Peace will follow from there.

This book is very much about how the author sees the world. It gives the impression that the author has found herself living in a country that she very much dislikes. I somewhat pity the situation that she has found herself in. She has become disillusioned by society in general. She keeps ranting about the injustices in the American society. She rants against her religion and a certain political party. She even specifically named an American news channel to not watch without giving any plausible reason. The author makes too many general statements with very little factual evidence to back up her arguments.

Going through this book feels very much like reading a direct translation of an essay from another language. It is a very difficult read. It is littered with spelling and grammatical errors. For example, “We have to donate money so they can give left over bread away, like you cannot do so out of you own pocket.“ There are too many sentences which require too much effort to decipher. There seems to be no structure in the writing. The book is full of ramblings and conjectures.

This book contains too many generalizations about American politics and has a rather anti-Christian undertone. That is, despite the author’s own insistent that society should always find a middle ground in every situation. She even touches on the unaffordability of the American healthcare suggesting that medical bills be reduced. But she does not offer a practical solution as to how it can be achieved.

This work will not appeal to an intelligent reader. It feels too much like reading a piece of political propaganda. The author makes too many generalizations based on her rather narrow view of the world. This book reads too much like a personal blog jumping from one thought to another. Adding chapter titles would have been helpful for this work. There is no clear progression of argument or story from one chapter to the next. This book is just a collection of personal thoughts stitched together. The author seems to portray both the Bible and the Koran in a bad light but her arguments feel shallow. This writing is a rather narrow and one-dimensional view of the world. Overall, it is very poorly written.

About the only positive thing that comes out of this book is the faint message of peace in a chaotic world. In spite of the poor English used, this book seems to be a genuine cry of a very concerned author for the chaotic world that we live in.

I rate this book with 1 out of 4 stars. I am giving this book the lowest rating. It reads too much like an initial draft of a first draft. The writing is too politically biased and reads like a plea for help from a tortured soul rather than a master’s guide on how to find inner peace.

How is this book exactly a "philosophical" one?

You are absolutely right. It's sad that She is so cynical. I pointed out her hypocrisy in my review. Feel free to check out my review. I rated it 1 out of 4 stars.
