"Soul Seeker" by Kaylin McFarren plunges us into the chilling tale of Benjamin Poe, a man convicted of a horrific crime—the murder of his own son, Gabriel. However, Poe's story goes far beyond a domestic tragedy. It's a descent into the supernatural, where a desperate father grapples with a soul-snatching demon and the devastating consequences of his actions. The book opens with a bang, immediately throwing us into the heart of Poe's predicament. He's on death row, confessing to his lawyer, not to justify his actions but to reveal the bizarre truth behind them. As Poe recounts the events leading up to the tragedy, a sense of unease permeates the narrative. Here's where this book takes a thrilling turn when Poe claims innocence, insisting he was forced to commit a horrific act to save his son from a far greater evil. Can he believe his own suspicions? What made him commit this crime? Is he innocent? This unique blend of crime and the paranormal keeps readers guessing and wanting more.

The combination of murder mystery, family drama, and the supernatural creates a fast-paced and suspenseful read. The story unfolds through Poe's confession, which allows readers to experience the events firsthand. The perspective from which the book was told is very engaging. The book features a cast of characters that are both relatable and intriguing. Poe's desperation and grief are palpable, making his situation all the more tragic. Crighton, despite being a demon, is a compelling villain. His motives and powers remain veiled throughout much of the story, adding to the suspense. Even supporting characters, like Poe's lawyer, are well-developed and add depth to the narrative.

The book provides interesting themes for discussion. Themes like the nature of good and evil, the power of love and sacrifice, and the consequences of desperation are all woven into the story. There is nothing I dislike about this book. It is the first time I've read a book that has this kind of blend of fiction. The book is exceptionally well edited. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. This book is an engaging read that blends crime, family drama, and the supernatural into a captivating story. The fast-paced plot, well-developed characters, and exploration of complex themes make it a worthwhile read for fans of suspenseful fiction.
