HEALTH TIPS, MYTHS, AND TRICKS: A Physician’s Advice. Health information to liberate us from “Snake Oil”. Morton E. Tavel, MD.Brighton Publishing LLC, Mesa, AZ 85203, 2015. Non-fiction.
Health tips, myths, and tricks: A Physician’s Advice. Health information to liberate us from “Snake Oil” articulates health issues caused by misconceptions of various issues such as foods, myths, some of the doctors TV shows available and it gives statistical information provided by solid research thereby making the advice given truly relatable.
The book consists of three parts and these are:
1. Tips, this part is about health and wellness that can be incorporated into one’s daily life and that hopefully, will create a healthier and longer physical outlook, help reduce wastage of money, and maybe even reduce body weight
2. Myths, this part is about common misconceptions certain about certain hygiene practices, technologies basically almost anything regarding our physical makeup and how we interact and fit into the world around us.
3. Tricks, this part is about various strategies that are designed to take your money in exchange for inappropriate—or dangerous products or information. Tricks literally takes a deep dive into some of the most highly used tricks thereby reducing the chances of easily falling prey to the scams.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because it is good, easy to understand and practical. The advice given is very easy to follow because it is backed by substantial figures. The content is written in such a way that it very easy to find what it is exactly, that you are looking for amidst all of the statistics contained in very part and it is backed solid research.
I liked the topics that were covered. The author covered very basic topics which are easily used to fool people because they come across as not being that much of a big deal but in the actual sense they are the major causes of big issues such as medical conditions and money loss. The book gives insight on current pressing matters, and clears the blur caused by myths that are super old and have simply being passed on from generation to generation without enough evidence.
The book can appeal to people that are trying to explore various lifestyles, body cautious people, learners, people that are trying to lose weight, food lovers, people that are trying to be economical and people that are genuinely looking for the truth when it comes to certain foods, drugs, lifestyles and myths.
