The book Escape by Ami is a romatic novel that demands to be read in one sitting. It gets the reader right into action within the first few minutes of reading. Taking the reader through breath-taking encounters of one, Layla Wallace and Cyrus, the man she falls in love with under horrific circumstances, the book is one of the most vivid book I have read.

Layla and his boyfriend Zamir move out of the country for a vacation when they are kidnapped and taken to Evin prison in Iran. They are seperated never to meet again upon arrival. The strategic abduction of Layla is a threat to Israel due to the profession of her father. Professor
Wallace is a nuclear Physicist who has been running a research on Uranium under the covers.

When she learns of her daughters abduction, he is ready to surrender everything to save her only daughter. He knows he can be blackmailed by the perpetrators and therefore seeks help from the only friend he has on the government.

Dodi, as they used to call him when they were Harvard buddies, is now the Prime Minister of Israel. Professor Wallace has not had a healthy relationship with the government and fears to exploit the option at hands.Together with his wife, Late Rebecca Wallace, they had been shut down by the government from continuing with their nuclear research. It turns out to be the only solution and luckily for him, Dodi offers to help him.
Dodi activates the mole the had planted on Iranian government--Cyrus Hassani. His assignment is to deliver Layla Wallace to Israel government dead or alive. Dodi knows that the longer Layla stays with her captors the likelihood of them discovering who her father was, was getting high. He also wanted to rescue Layla so that his father would agree to help his government with his nuclear research.

Cyrus therefore sets off to Evin prison where Layla is being held and delivers her from Mohammad, a brutal guard who wants to rape her. This is the first act towards gaining her trust. It is also the beginning of an unending relationship with Layla Wallace.

Cyrus finds himself falling for his assignment-Layla. No amount of military training can withstand the beauty of the young lady. As Cyrus anticipates, his Iranian boss realizes his endevours and his cover is blown. He has to fight his long time general in a mission to rescue the young lady whom he clearly cannot terminate as was ordered should he find himself unable to protect her. The bond between the two has grown beyond destruction.

The battle ends in a deadly shoot-out and a possible war between Iran and Israel. Nonetheless, he delivers Layla safely to Israel and tries in vain to forget about her.
Layla, who had conceived when they made love amidst crisis in Iran, intends to keep it a secret from Cyrus. Though she tries to reach out to him, she is curtailed by Cyrus' superiors. She gives it all up especially because Cyrus does not make any effort to reach out to her.
They are to meet by coincidence and end up together in happy-ever-after relationship, bringing their daughter up.

The themes of this novel have been articutaled with clarity and using vivid language. For lovers of action and romance, Escape by Ami is the novel. Reading through the action chapters for me was like watching it happen. I therefore rate this novel 3 out of 4. The author is very chronological. I never found myself wondering what scene it was at any one time while reading through Escape. Vivid language is able to create mental pictures in the mind of the reader. She is able to maintain suspense all through the novel, which is what keeps the reader glued to the book from cover to cover. I also like the ending of the novel on happy-ever-after note. Cyrus finally getting to settle wih Layla, gives the essence that love conquers all storms.

Nonetheless, I disliked the kind of language Ami uses. The book adopts a very naked sexual language. I do not recommend the book for minors. This is because it has explicit content that is not suitable for minors. It is okay to include sex content in the book but using a more decent langauge would have been better. That not withstanding, the book is a hit.
